Some Enchanted Evening

Some Enchanted Evening is the romantic side of the Bamboo Koi Theatre. We hold regular events including Ballroom dancing, Swing, Jazz, Live performers and DJ's,
In addition to the live performances we also have Theatre productions, Ballet. and outdoor festivals.

Throughout the year we will be holding specific Enchanted Evening / Match Maker events so keep an eye on our calendar
The Matchmaker HUD increases the chance of finding your perfect partner and it's FREE.
Wear the HUD, enter your details and off you go. When a match enters the range set by you your heart begins to flutter, informing you just how close a match your potential partner actually is. From that point on it is entirely up to you what happens next.

For the romantic in you, take a walk through the theatre to the Rooftop Bistro or next door into the Piano lounge where you can read a magazine until your partner arrives to whisk you off your feet for a lovely evening.

Today @ The Bamboo Koi Thursday 16th April

Yesterday we took a Parisienee soiree with the help of Frederique who's lovely accent filled the room.
Today I would be delighted if you would join me on a wold tour.

At 11am slt we begin our trip in the US of A with American / Italian singer songwriter, Nino D'amore and his Frank Sinatra Jazz style.



Nino can switch from smooth Jazz to rock and roll as easy as pie and as the tempo changes he whisks us through Sppain and onwards to Italy. Nino is a seasoned second life performer and will e serenading us for the first hour of the day.


At 2pm slt  we continue or journey East into Russia and the turn of the century as Anna Pavlova brings the very first dance show to the Bamboo Koi Theatre entitled Voices of Spring.



Anna, taking the name of her Ballet idol who came to fame in the late19th, early 20th century makes her debut with her interpretation of the coming of Spring.
Anna has worked hard to create this performance from scratch, putting together beautiful scenery and some surprisingly subtle visual effects to accompany her dance


On the stroke of 3pm slt we board aeroflot flight 317 and return to Europe as we head down to Portugal.
We started the day with old blue eyes, spent an hour at the ballet with a historical legend and we finish with an angel. A fadista to be precise.



Yslea is another second life debut artist and is a traditional portuguese fado singer and as soon as she starts singing you can hear the passion and feeling that she puts into her songs.

Last night she told me that she was nervous. When you hear her sing you will wonder why.

May day festival Update

Make something with a may day theme I asked. This outdoor stage is what he came up with

Okey dokey, so what we need now is 5 male volunteers :) and you lovely asn creators

I need 5 guys to dress up as the band members of Steeleye Span and the creators to fashion some outfits. If you all have a look t the photos at this link this is what I need please.

The volunteers don't have to do anything but play dress up, stand on stage as backing group and be famous for an hour haha. I will provide the insturments with anims and fiind Maddy Prior to do the live singing

Creators, if you could make some suitable outfits and moustaches for the guys and an outfit for Maddy I would be extremely grateful

No Venue Tip Jar?

During the events people kept asking me where the venue tip jar is and I told them "I don't have one, give it to the performer please" and then they asked why I refuse to have one. I drive La Freese nuts because I don't have a sign explaining why heheh. Sorry La.

Okay so here are the reasons that I won't have one.

1) When I visit a sim or venue and they have a jar with neon hover text telling me that tier fees cost a fortune and that I should donte if I want it to stay, I think to myself "Why did you pay the rent initially if you wanted other people to pay for the darn thing"

2) People don't come to the venue to see me, they come to see the artists. Tip the performer, not the venue. If there are no performers, there is no the venue. If there is no venue, I can't help any more people.

3) I opened the Theatre because I enjoy what I do in second life. It's my escape. I can't expect someone else to pay for my enjoyment. It was my choice, my decision therefore, I pay for it.

4) I hate money. I don't think it's necessary. If we all give and take, we all benefit. Yes there are those who are take take take but those people are easy to spot so you get rid of them. Let them go play with the money grabbers. Over at the Koi, we give and take and help each other. I appreciate that people want to help and also show their gratitude but I would rather they did it without money.

5) If anyone wants to help me they can do it by supporting what I am trying to do, This can be done by spreading the word. Performers can help and at the same time help themselves. Come and perform at the Koi, you get noticed and promoted to a wider audience, I get a performer who doesnt cost me money and the up and coming artists take inspiration from you and the chance to network which in turn gives them a wider audience to get noticed too.

Help me by clicking the VOTE FOR THE VENUE thing outside the door. Help me by coming to watch the performers.
Click the Avatar Social Network advertising board because it not only helps me but helps you too. ASN has more business and personal advertising. promotion, networking and friend finding tools than you can shake a stick at and joining also helps ASN.

If you have any in world skills which could help new performers please join L&G Entertainment as a mentor because myself and La Freese can't do everything ourselves no matter how hard we try.

If you are a mesh head and are willing to make outfits for the theatre plays, stage sets etc, volunteer. I would be extremely happy to have you on board with us.

I am not asking anyone to give without giving back. I will return the favour however I can. I do not assign an 'equal value' concept to things, With me its a case of I need this and you need that so it's a fair swap. Again, I know there are people who try to use this to their advantage but hey, I didn't just get off the bus you know.

All of the above are more valuable to me, the performers and the Bamboo Koi than cash.

It's the final day of the grand opening folks and we are going out in cascade of sparkling light

First up at Noon slt is Parmellio AKA King Ploppy

Singer songwriter who has been performing for 25 years. Blues, Rock, psychedelic, rock, soul, folk and country  bands have all had the benefit of Pamello and his guitar. He does sing covers but you have to hit him with a stick to get them. Pamello excels with his own compositions so don't force the issue. Just enjoy the show

2pm slt Telima Mo Anam Cara

At 1pm we welcome to the stage Teliima.
Started her real life singing career at the age of 5; her sl career a few years ago at the karaoke lounge on voice and now has her own youtube channel.
This lady could sing the roof off and often does, astounding the audience with her voice

3pm slt Chang High Sisters

Closing our opening days and night we have the renowned Chang High Sisters Fireshow.
A real show girl performance by the Sisters to round of events. Turn your settings to nighttime and enjoy lots of sparkles and acrobatics as the Sisters run through their routine. All the animations used in their performance were designed by the girls and professionaly made for SL so that they could bring their real life circus act to the virtual world

We are 3 sisters who has created and designed a very unique and extremely powerful circus/fire-dancing show.
We perform in rotating trapezes, on high wire, acrobats podiums and on rolling balls.
We dance on walking elephants and do many very unique acrobatic animations, reality fire juggling, fire Hula hoops, high tight wire walk and fire dance... all colored by effects of many different kinds, all created, scripted and available inside Second Life, such as fire balls, particles, smoke, effects (FX) ,and other kinds of realistically living light.
